1E1/T1 Cable
Appearance and Structure
1E1 75-ohm cable
1E1 120-ohm or 1T1 100-ohm cable
Connection
1E1 cables are
classified into 75-ohm cables. The connectors of the cables are as follows:
- 75-ohm cable (DB9 to BNC):
1.
One
end provides a DB9 connector.
2.
The
other end provides two BNC connectors.
- 120-ohm cable (DB9 to RJ45)
1.
One
end provides a DB9 connector.
2.
The
other end provides an RJ45 connector.
A T1 cable is a T1
100-ohm cable. Its appearance is the same as the appearance of an E1 120-ohm
cable.
Trunk cable
NOTE:
The 1E/T1 cable is
3m long. If the connection distance is long, a trunk cable is required.
- E1 75-ohm trunk cable: BNC to BNC (The two connectors are BNC 75 angle male-‖.)
- E1 120-ohm or T1 100-ohm trunk cable: RJ45 (The two connectors are RJ45.)
The E1 75-ohm trunk cable is connected as follows:
- If the 1E1 cable extension is not used, the BNC connector is connected to the remote device.
- If the 1E1 cable extension is used, the BNC connector is connected to a coaxial connector, and the coaxial connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable.
The E1 120-ohm or T1 100-ohm trunk cable is connected
as follows:
- If the 1E1/T1 cable extension is not used, the RJ45 connector is connected to the RJ45 interface of the remote device.
- If the 1E1/T1 cable extension is used, the RJ45 connector is connected to a network interface connector, and the network interface connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable.
4E1/T1 Cable
Appearance and Structure
4E1 75-ohm cable
4E1 120-ohm cable
Connection
4E1/T1 cables are
classified into 75-ohm cables and 120-ohm cables. The connectors of the cables
are as follows:
- 75-ohm cable (RJ45 to BNC):
1.
One
end provides a RJ45 connector.
2.
The
other end provides two BNC connectors.
- 120-ohm cable (RJ45 to RJ45):
1.
One
end provides a RJ45 connector.
2.
The
other end provides an RJ45 connector.
Trunk cable
NOTE:
The 4E1/T1 cable
is 3m long. If the connection distance is long, a trunk cable is required.
- E1 75-ohm trunk cable: BNC to BNC (The two connectors are BNC 75 angle male-‖.)
- E1 120-ohm trunk cable: RJ45 to RJ45 (The two connectors are RJ45.)
The E1 75-ohm trunk cable is connected as follows:
- If the 4E1 cable extension is not used, the BNC connector is connected to the remote device.
- If the 4E1 cable extension is used, the BNC connector is connected to a coaxial connector, and the coaxial connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable
The E1 120-ohm trunk cable is connected as follows:
- If the E1 cable extension is not used, the RJ45 connector is connected to the RJ45 interface of the remote device.
- If the E1 cable extension is used, the RJ45 connector is connected to a network interface connector, and the network interface connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable
Synchronous/Asynchronous Serial Cable
Synchronous/Asynchronous Serial Cables
Connection
A
synchronous/asynchronous serial cable is connected as follows:
- The DB28 connector is connected to a DB28 port on a card.
- Connection of the other end depends on the type of the WAN link:
1.
If WAN
link is a digital data network (DDN) line, connect the other end of the cable
to a port on a channel service unit (CSU) or data service unit (DSU).
2.
If the
WAN link is a dial-up line, connect the other end of the cable to the serial
port on a modem.
