Cables for Huawei AR G3 Routers (2)

1E1/T1 Cable

Appearance and Structure

1E1 75-ohm cable

1E1 120-ohm or 1T1 100-ohm cable

Connection

1E1 cables are classified into 75-ohm cables. The connectors of the cables are as follows:
  •         75-ohm cable (DB9 to BNC):
        1.        One end provides a DB9 connector.
        2.         The other end provides two BNC connectors.

  •         120-ohm cable (DB9 to RJ45)
        1.        One end provides a DB9 connector.
        2.        The other end provides an RJ45 connector.

A T1 cable is a T1 100-ohm cable. Its appearance is the same as the appearance of an E1 120-ohm cable.

Trunk cable

NOTE:

The 1E/T1 cable is 3m long. If the connection distance is long, a trunk cable is required.
  •         E1 75-ohm trunk cable: BNC to BNC (The two connectors are BNC 75 angle male-‖.)
  •         E1 120-ohm or T1 100-ohm trunk cable: RJ45 (The two connectors are RJ45.)

The E1 75-ohm trunk cable is connected as follows:

  •         If the 1E1 cable extension is not used, the BNC connector is connected to the remote device.
  •         If the 1E1 cable extension is used, the BNC connector is connected to a coaxial connector, and the coaxial connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable.

The E1 120-ohm or T1 100-ohm trunk cable is connected as follows:

  •         If the 1E1/T1 cable extension is not used, the RJ45 connector is connected to the RJ45 interface of the remote device.
  •         If the 1E1/T1 cable extension is used, the RJ45 connector is connected to a network interface connector, and the network interface connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable.

4E1/T1 Cable

Appearance and Structure

4E1 75-ohm cable

4E1 120-ohm cable

Connection

4E1/T1 cables are classified into 75-ohm cables and 120-ohm cables. The connectors of the cables are as follows:
  •         75-ohm cable (RJ45 to BNC):
         1.        One end provides a RJ45 connector.
         2.        The other end provides two BNC connectors.

  •         120-ohm cable (RJ45 to RJ45):
         1.        One end provides a RJ45 connector.
         2.        The other end provides an RJ45 connector.

Trunk cable

NOTE:

The 4E1/T1 cable is 3m long. If the connection distance is long, a trunk cable is required.
  •         E1 75-ohm trunk cable: BNC to BNC (The two connectors are BNC 75 angle male-‖.)
  •         E1 120-ohm trunk cable: RJ45 to RJ45 (The two connectors are RJ45.)

The E1 75-ohm trunk cable is connected as follows:

  •         If the 4E1 cable extension is not used, the BNC connector is connected to the remote device.
  •         If the 4E1 cable extension is used, the BNC connector is connected to a coaxial connector, and the coaxial connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable

The E1 120-ohm trunk cable is connected as follows:

  •         If the E1 cable extension is not used, the RJ45 connector is connected to the RJ45 interface of the remote device.
  •         If the E1 cable extension is used, the RJ45 connector is connected to a network interface connector, and the network interface connector is connected to the remote device through the trunk cable

Synchronous/Asynchronous Serial Cable

Synchronous/Asynchronous Serial Cables

Connection

A synchronous/asynchronous serial cable is connected as follows:

  •         The DB28 connector is connected to a DB28 port on a card.
  •         Connection of the other end depends on the type of the WAN link:
           1.        If WAN link is a digital data network (DDN) line, connect the other end of the cable to a port on a channel service unit (CSU) or data service unit (DSU).
           2.        If the WAN link is a dial-up line, connect the other end of the cable to the serial port on a modem.

An AC power cable connects the following:

  •         The AC input power jack on the chassis

  •          The other end is connected to the AC power supply

DC Power Cables

Appearance

-48V DC power return cable

-48V DC power cable

Connection

A DC power cable connects the following two interfaces:

  •         Input power jack on the chassis

  •         Output power interface on an external power system

NOTE:

A-48V power return cable is black and is connected to the RTN(+) terminal of the DC power supply. A -48V power cable is blue and is connected to the NEG(-) terminal of the DC power supply.

Connection

A ground cable connects the chassis to the ground.

Console Cable

Appearance and Structure

Connection

A console cable connects the console port of the device to the serial port of an operation terminal to transmit configuration data. A shielded cable or an unshielded cable can be used according to the onsite situation. A console cable connects the device and terminal as follows:

  •         The 8-pin RJ45 connector is inserted into the console port of the device

  •          The DB9 female connector is connected to an operation terminal, which is usually a PC.

Network Cable

The network cables are classified into straight-through cables and crossover cables.

  •         The straight-through cable uses two RJ45 connectors, which have the same pinout.

  •         The crossover cable uses two RJ45 connectors, which have difference pinouts.

Appearance and Structure

NOTE:

  •         Generally, a network cable is a standard unshielded network cable that uses RJ45   connectors.

  •         The appearances of the straight-through cable and the crossover cable are the same.

Optical Fiber

Optical fiber classification

NOTICE:

When connecting or removing the LC/PC optical connector, align the connector with the optical interface, and do not rotate the fiber. Pay attention to the following points:

  •         Align the head of the fiber jumper with the optical interface and insert the optical fiber into the interface gently.
  •         To remove the fiber, press the latch on the connector and pull the fiber out.
